Welcome to our Patient-first primary care office! We all miss how medicine used to be with the family medicine doctor being more than just another faceless company to call when we had a problem. We believe medical care is more than just another contractual service in our lives. It should be personal, individually tailored, and delivered in a well thought out way which take into account all aspects of what is best for the patient. The only way to do this is by knowing our patients, and making sure our patient know and trust us. We are family-owned, and old-fashioned personal medical care is in our blood! Dr. Lawrie Friedman’s father was a General Medicine Physician, and his three children are all doctors as well!

Our office provides all the features of a modern-day office with web messaging, secure online access to your medical records, and a cloud based secure system with one the leading electronic medical records in the country. We combined this with a patient friendly scheduling system which allows us to have much shorter wait times for both scheduling and in our waiting room than typical offices. This allows us to spend more time with our patients, hear out their concerns, and address their issues as needed. We keep “Family” in Family Medicine.

Dr. Lawrie Friedman

Dr. Friedman trained at Witwatersrand Medical School in South Africa and worked as the chief of a burn unit prior to moving to Dallas. Dr. Friedman was the Medical Director of an Emergency Room upon starting his career in Dallas, and also has extensive experience working in general adult medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, dermatology, allergy and asthma, and various other fields. He practices evidence-based, compassionate and individualized medicine, with shared decision making with his patients. His patients routinely comment and rave about his humor and bedside manner and many of his patients have been with the practice for over 15 years! In his personal life Dr. Friedman is an avid cyclist routinely participating in endurance events, but most importantly he loves spending time with his six grandchildren. It’s all about Family!

Amanda Parent NP

Amanda graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She intially worked as an ER nurse at Baylor University Medical Center while she completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. During this time she took a break from her studies to work as an ER travel nurse for 2 years. It was an amazing opportunity for her to gain experience and to live in various cities across the United States. In December 2008 she graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Master of Science degree. She then began her Nurse Practitioner career at Penn Internal Medicine Associates in Philadelphia. In 2012 she returned to Dallas and she joined Dr. Friedman's practice. Regarding Family Medicine, Amanda states" I love family practice because I get to know not just my patients, but also their families!"

In her free time, Amanda enjoys pending time with her family, which includes her 2 children, Eric and Liana, and their Plott hound mix, Rory. They all love the outdoors and go on a few camping trips each year. Amanda also enjoys long walks with Rory, gardening, reading, traveling, swimming, and relaxing on any beach!
